Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), opened in 1974, is a sprawling five-terminal (A–E) global gateway serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and one of the busiest hubs in the U.S. As American Airlines’ primary hub, DFW handles a huge mix of domestic and international flights, plus sizeable operations from Delta, United, Spirit and Frontier. The airport is well connected to downtown Dallas and Fort Worth via DART light rail and regional rail links, TEXRail/Trinity shuttles and major highways (Highways 114/121), with extensive rental car and shuttle services. Generally mid-priced for travelers—strong competition brings affordable flight options, though parking and concessions can be costly.
