Da Nang International Airport (DAD), originally established in the 1940s and modernized with a new international terminal in 2017, is the main gateway to central Vietnam and the third-busiest airport in the country. The compact airport operates two passenger terminals and handles a mix of domestic and growing international services, making it easy to navigate for travelers bound for Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue (all within a 1–2 hour drive). Ground transport includes regular buses, taxis and popular ride-hailing services, plus convenient airport shuttles. Known for competitive fares thanks to several low-cost carriers, DAD serves as a base for VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways while also hosting Vietnam Airlines and international carriers.
