Ciudad Del Carmen Airport

Ciudad Del Carmen Airport (CME), officially Ciudad del Carmen International Airport, opened in the late 1960s and operates from a compact single-terminal facility that handles regional and domestic flights for Campeche’s coastal city. Small but strategically important as a gateway to the Bay of Campeche and offshore oil operations, CME connects travelers to Mexico City and nearby hubs via national and regional carriers. The airport sits roughly 5–10 km from downtown Ciudad del Carmen and is easily reached by highway with taxis, shared shuttles and rental cars (public bus service is limited). Fares tend to be affordable on regional routes, and while CME isn’t a major airline hub, it’s regularly served by Aeroméxico Connect and various low-cost and regional operators.
