Cherskiy Airport, opened in the Soviet era around the 1960s, is a small regional airport serving the remote town of Chersky in the Sakha Republic and acts as a vital Arctic gateway for northeastern Yakutia. The single modest terminal handles limited scheduled and charter services, with regional carriers such as Polar Airlines and Yakutia Airlines operating flights—most commonly to Yakutsk—alongside seasonal cargo and emergency flights. Ground access is limited, with year‑round road links, river transport in summer and basic taxi services, so public transit is minimal.
