Chengdu Tianfu

Opened in 2021, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport features one purpose-built terminal and a rapidly expanding route network, positioned about 50 km southeast of downtown Chengdu in the Tianfu New Area. As one of China’s newest mega airports, it serves as a major international gateway for Sichuan and western China with significant cargo and long-haul ambitions. Accessibility is strong — Chengdu Metro Line 18, the Chengdu–Tianfu intercity rail link, frequent airport buses and expressways make the city center reachable in roughly 40–60 minutes. Domestic fares are generally competitive, and the airport is an emerging base for Sichuan Airlines and Air China with growing services from other Chinese carriers.
