Chara

Chara Airport, serving the remote settlement of Chara in Zabaykalsky Krai, was originally established during the Soviet era (circa the 1960s–1970s) and today operates a single small terminal catering to regional traffic. As a compact regional airfield, it plays an important role connecting this Siberian outpost to larger hubs in the region and beyond, with road links and seasonal ground transfers to the village and sparse public transport options for onward travel. Not a major airline hub, Chara is mainly served by small regional carriers and charter flights, and fares can be higher than at big city airports due to limited competition and service frequency.
