Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, opened in the late 1970s, is the compact international gateway to Iguazu Falls serving Puerto Iguazú and the surrounding region with a single passenger terminal and a handful of gates. As the primary airport for visits to Iguazu National Park, it handles a mix of domestic and regional flights and is an important seasonal hub for travelers. Ground access is straightforward—short taxi or shuttle rides and occasional bus services connect the airport to downtown Puerto Iguazú and the park (about a 20 km transfer), with car rentals available on site. With regular services from Aerolíneas Argentinas, LATAM Argentina and low-cost carriers such as Flybondi and JetSMART, fares can be quite affordable compared with larger Argentine airports, especially when booked early or during off-peak periods.
