Can Tho Airport (VCA) is the main gateway to Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, originally opened in the 1960s and today operating a single passenger terminal that handles regional traffic and seasonal charter flights. Modest in size but strategically important for access to Can Tho city, Ninh Kiều Wharf and nearby floating markets, the airport links the delta with Ho Chi Minh City and other domestic destinations. It lies roughly 10–15 km from downtown Can Tho with road, shuttle and taxi options (public bus service is limited), making onward travel straightforward. Generally friendly to budget travelers, VCA is served by Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air and Bamboo Airways, though it is not a major airline hub.
