Bouake

Bouaké Airport, serving central Ivory Coast, opened in the mid-20th century and operates from a single small passenger terminal that handles mostly domestic and regional services; it’s the main air gateway for Bouaké city and the surrounding Gbêkê region. The airport is compact but important for connecting central Côte d’Ivoire with Abidjan and neighboring countries, reachable by a short taxi or shared-minibus ride from downtown (roughly a 10–20 minute drive depending on traffic) and linked by regional roads. Not a major international hub, it’s generally more affordable than Abidjan for travelers, with scheduled flights operated by the national carrier and regional airlines on key routes.
