Bocas del Toro’s Isla Colón Airport opened in the 1990s and remains a compact, visitor-focused gateway with a single small terminal serving regional flights and charters. As the primary air access point for Bocas Town and the surrounding Caribbean islands, it handles turboprop aircraft and is key to eco-tourism, surfing and island-hopping in the province. Ground access is simple—short taxi rides to Bocas Town plus frequent water taxis to nearby cays—and regular domestic connections to Panama City and other coastal destinations via Air Panama and local charter operators. Fares are generally affordable for short domestic hops, though prices can rise in high season.
