Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport opened in 1962 and is Serbia’s largest international gateway, with two passenger terminals (a smaller terminal 1 and a main terminal 2) handling a busy mix of regional and long-haul traffic. As the primary hub for Air Serbia and a key base for several low-cost carriers, the airport is an important transit point in the Western Balkans. About 18 km west of central Belgrade, it’s well connected by regular shuttle buses, taxis, car rental and motorway links, with improved rail connections planned. Ticket prices and airport services tend to be more affordable than many Western European hubs, especially when flying budget airlines.
