Bar Harbor Airport

Hancock County–Bar Harbor Airport (BHB) opened in the mid-1950s and today operates from a single small terminal, serving as the primary regional gateway to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. This compact airport handles mostly short-haul flights and seasonal traffic, making it an important link for visitors to Mount Desert Island rather than a major hub. Located in Trenton about 10 miles from downtown Bar Harbor, BHB is best reached by car, seasonal shuttle services and taxis—public transit is limited. Fares are generally affordable for short regional hops but can spike in summer; Cape Air is the airport’s primary carrier and seasonal charters also operate.
