Arriving light on cash? Expect no exchange counter but two handy ATMs—one by arrivals and one near check‑in—then do any larger withdrawals or cash exchanges in Banyuwangi city for better rates and more choice.
Looking for duty-free? Banyuwangi’s compact terminal doesn’t offer it, but you can snag local coffee and gifts before your flight and plan your liquor, perfume, and chocolate buys at your connection in Jakarta, Surabaya, or Bali.
Grab a quick kopi or a simple rice plate before boarding: Banyuwangi’s small terminal packs a handful of local cafés and snack kiosks with fair prices and a few regional bites like sego tempong and rujak soto. Coffee averages IDR 20–35k and meals 40–80k, a touch higher than in town but still easy on the wallet.
Need a quick check-up or painkillers before you fly? A small first‑aid room near Arrivals operates during flight hours with free basic assistance, while nearby pharmacies have a fuller selection if you need more than the terminal’s OTC basics.
Heading off to Ijen or the surf and need to ditch a bag? Banyuwangi’s small airport doesn’t have self‑service lockers, but the information desk or your airline can often arrange short‑term storage during operating hours for a modest fee—bring photo ID and aim for same‑day pickup.
Settle into Banyuwangi’s breezy terminal in one of two compact waiting areas—before security or by the gates—with free Wi‑Fi, charging spots, and a couple of cafés; there’s no full‑service lounge and the airport doesn’t run 24/7. For a quieter moment, slip to the far end of departures; seating is comfortable, though lie‑down space and showers are limited.

Banyuwangi International Airport (Blimbingsari Airport), Blimbingsari Village, Rogojampi District, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, Indonesia
Banyuwangi’s Blimbingsari Airport (BWX), modernized and reopened in 2010, is a compact regional airport with a single terminal that punches above its weight as the main air gateway to eastern Java, Ijen Crater and ferries to Bali. Serving mostly domestic routes, the airport is about 10–15 km from Banyuwangi city and is easily reached by taxi, shuttle services, car hire and local minibuses, with road links to Banyuwangi train station and Ketapang ferry port. Generally more affordable than larger Indonesian airports, BWX handles Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Lion Air, Wings Air and Batik Air flights and acts as a regional base for several domestic carriers.
