Bangui Airport

Bangui M'Poko International Airport, opened in 1967, is the Central African Republic’s primary international gateway and is served through one main passenger terminal that handles both domestic and regional flights. The compact airport plays a crucial role for Bangui and surrounding provinces, with scheduled connections by Ethiopian Airlines and a handful of regional carriers, while the UN and humanitarian flights are a frequent presence. Located roughly 7–9 km north of downtown Bangui, it’s reachable by taxi, private car and occasional minibuses on the main road, though public transport is limited. Expect basic on-site services; flights can be pricier due to limited competition, even if local costs are modest.
