Aurukun Mission

Aurukun Mission Airport (AUU) is a small regional airstrip serving the remote Aurukun community on Cape York Peninsula, established in the mid-20th century with runway upgrades added in later decades. The airport operates from a single modest terminal and apron area, handling light aircraft, charter services and medevac flights rather than high-volume passenger traffic. As the primary air link for the town, it connects travelers to larger Queensland regional centers via scheduled and charter carriers and is reachable by the local road network. Because services are limited and flights infrequent, fares tend to be pricier than at major airports; it is not a hub but hosts regional and charter operators.
