Aswan Airport

Aswan International Airport is the main air gateway to southern Egypt, opening in the mid-20th century and operating from a single passenger terminal that handles both domestic services and seasonal international charters. This compact but important regional airport connects Aswan to Cairo and other Egyptian cities, serving as a convenient jump-off point for Nile cruises and nearby archaeological sites. Located about 16 km from downtown Aswan, the airport is reachable by taxi, car hire and occasional shuttle services, with a roughly 20–30 minute drive to the city. Flights to Aswan are typically competitively priced on carriers such as EgyptAir, Nile Air and Air Cairo, while charter services appear seasonally.
