Armidale Airport (ARM), established in the mid-1960s, is a compact regional gateway serving New South Wales’ New England region with a single passenger terminal and a focus on domestic services. The airport punches above its size by providing regular flights to Sydney and nearby regional centres, making it important for business and university traffic. Located about 6 km from Armidale CBD, it’s easily reached by car, taxi or local shuttle and sits close to the New England Highway for quick road links. Generally seen as an affordable option compared with major capitals, ARM is primarily served by Regional Express (Rex) and a handful of charter and regional operators.
