Antalya Airport (AYT), opened in the 1990s, is the primary gateway to Turkey’s Turquoise Coast and one of the country’s busiest seasonal airports, handling tens of millions of passengers each year. The airport operates with two main passenger terminals (domestic and international) and mixes large scheduled services with abundant charter flights to coastal resorts. Located roughly 13 km from Antalya city center, AYT is well connected by Havaş shuttles, municipal buses, taxis and rental cars—making beach transfers to Lara, Belek and Kemer straightforward. Flights tend to be affordable thanks to strong low-cost and charter competition, and the airport is a major base for SunExpress, Pegasus and Corendon alongside heavy Turkish Airlines traffic.
