Ain Beida Airport, serving Ouargla and the surrounding Sahara oilfields, first opened in the 1970s and operates from one main terminal that handles mostly domestic traffic; it’s a modest but strategically important regional airport for Algeria’s energy corridor. Located roughly 15–25 km from Ouargla city, the airport offers taxi, shuttle and car-rental connections rather than extensive rail links, making transfers straightforward for business and leisure travelers. Regular services by Air Algérie and regional carriers such as Tassili Airlines link to Algiers and other domestic destinations, and fares are generally affordable compared with larger international airports, though on-site facilities are basic.
