Adelaide Airport (IATA: ADL) opened in 1955 and today operates from one main passenger terminal with separate domestic and international precincts, making it the primary gateway to South Australia and one of Australia’s busier regional hubs. Located about 6 km west of Adelaide CBD, the airport is well connected by Adelaide Metro bus services and shuttle links, with taxis, ride-share and car hire readily available—note there’s no direct rail link. Generally considered more affordable for flights and parking than larger Australian capitals, ADL is a base or focus city for carriers such as Jetstar and Rex while Qantas and Virgin Australia run extensive services.
