Abakan Airport

Abakan Airport (IATA: ABA) in the Republic of Khakassia is a compact regional airport that opened in the mid-20th century and today operates from a single passenger terminal, handling mainly domestic services and occasional international charters. As the main air gateway to Abakan city, it’s roughly a 10–15 minute drive from the centre with regular shuttle buses, taxis and car hire, and good onward bus and rail links across southern Siberia. Not a major international hub, ABA serves as a regional base for local carriers and is typically considered affordable for domestic travelers, with flights from airlines such as Aeroflot, S7 and UTair.
