Unalaska Airport

Unalaska Airport, commonly called Dutch Harbor, was established in the mid-20th century (built during the World War II era) and today operates a single small terminal serving the Aleutian community on Amaknak/Unalaska Island. This compact but vital regional airport punches above its size thanks to Dutch Harbor’s status as a major fishing port, offering regular connections to Anchorage and other Alaskan hubs via Alaska Airlines and regional carriers; it isn’t a hub itself but is essential for cargo, crew changes and passenger links. Ground access around town is by short drives or shuttles, public transit is limited, and fares are generally higher than the U.S. average because of the remote location.
