Tacna Airport

Tacna Airport (TCQ), officially serving Peru’s southern border city, opened in the mid-20th century and operates from a single small terminal that handles primarily domestic and occasional regional flights. As the main gateway to Tacna and nearby Arica in Chile, the airport is a compact but important regional hub for travelers heading to southern Peru’s beaches and desert landscapes. It’s easy to reach by taxi, shared shuttle or local bus from the city center (a short 15–30 minute drive) and links well with long-distance buses for onward travel. Fares are generally affordable on domestic routes; Tacna isn’t a major airline hub but is commonly served by carriers such as LATAM Perú and Chilean low-cost operators on seasonal routes.
