Gombe Lawanti International Airport

Gombe Lawanti International Airport (IATA: GMO) is a small regional airport in Gombe State, Nigeria, opened in the late 2000s (around 2008–2010) and built to improve air links to the northeastern region. The airport operates from a single passenger terminal and handles mostly domestic flights, serving as an important gateway for Gombe city and surrounding agricultural towns. It’s reachable by a 20–30 minute drive from Gombe city centre with road connections, taxis, shared minibuses and occasional shuttle services. Not a major airline hub, GMO is served by domestic carriers such as Air Peace and Azman Air and is generally more affordable than larger Nigerian airports, though fares can vary with limited route options.
