Kerry Airport at Farranfore opened in 1969 and operates from a single compact terminal, serving as the gateway to Killarney, Tralee and the Ring of Kerry. This small regional airport punches above its weight for southwest Ireland, handling scheduled and seasonal flights mainly to the UK and Dublin and supporting tourism to the county’s national parks. It’s easily reached by the N22 road, with regular bus links, taxis and car hire available for the roughly 20-minute drive to Killarney. Not a major hub, Kerry is nevertheless served by low-cost carriers and Aer Lingus regional services, making it generally a budget-friendly option for travelers.
