Opened in the mid-1980s, Huejotsingo Airport (Hermanos Serdán International) is a compact regional airport with a single passenger terminal that serves the Puebla metropolitan area and nearby states. As Puebla’s main air gateway it’s small but strategically important for business and tourist traffic headed to Puebla’s UNESCO-listed historic center and nearby Cholula; on clear days travelers can even spot Popocatépetl from the apron. The airport sits roughly 25 km northeast of Puebla city and is linked by Highway 150D with regular shuttles, taxis and car-rental options; regional buses provide extra connectivity. Not a major airline hub, it’s commonly served by low-cost and regional carriers such as VivaAerobus, Volaris and Aeroméxico Connect, and fares tend to be more budget-friendly than flying via Mexico City’s larger airports.
