Addison Airport

Addison Airport opened in the 1950s and today operates as a compact reliever airport north of Dallas with a single small terminal area and several FBOs catering to private and corporate flyers. While not a commercial-airline hub, ADS is an important business aviation gateway into the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, easing traffic at DFW and Love Field and handling a high volume of general aviation and charter flights. It’s about a 15–20 minute drive from downtown Dallas, with easy access via Belt Line Road and key highways plus regional bus connections, taxis and rideshares. Because it’s focused on private and charter operations rather than scheduled low-cost carriers, travelers using Addison should expect costs generally higher than typical commercial airports.
